The Ballisti-Guard V.A.S. (Video Aiming System) is designed to maximize protection of law enforcement officers when involved in criminal apprehensions. The V.A.S. permits an officer to utilize available cover for protection while visually searching for suspects. The officer need only expose his weapon around corners, over obstacles, etc. to acquire and target the suspect by using the cross hairs on the monitor. The V.A.S. combines a tactical light and a small color camera in a housing that can be quickly attached to the mounting rail of the weapon. The video image is transmitted by a short flexible cable to a small, color LCD monitor that is held in the officer's free hand. The officer's weapon can be fired using either the standard open sights or the V.A.S. giving the officer ultimate flexibility.
